Meet Jessica and Shannon

Shannon is a nationally certified fitness instructor and owner of Joy of Fitness in Silver Spring, MD. She has over eight years of experience working in the fitness industry as an in home/virtual personal and small group trainer, group fitness instructor and group fitness studio owner specializing in total body conditioning for beginner to intermediate exercisers. She’s an effusive instructor helping you feel at ease, confident in movement and may even get you excited about exercising. Most importantly, she is your best fitness advocate ensuring you get an excellent workout tailored to your needs.

Shannon loves to travel and explore with her family, hike, play tennis, ride her bike and chill out with a good book and glass of wine. Most of all, she loves to share her passion for living a healthy and active life style and wholeheartedly believes in the power of physical activity has to build healthy bodies and big smiles!

Jessica is a certified health and cooking coach and mother of two. As a health and cooking coach she fulfills her passion for food and her love for working with people who want to build healthy and happy lives. Jessica received her training as a health coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. She also holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan. In addition to offering coaching to parents, families, and individuals, Jessica also facilitates workshops on a variety of food, health, and cooking related topics. When she is not working directly with clients, you can find her in the kitchen experimenting with recipes, blogging about food at balancedkitchen.com, or enjoying time outside with her kids.
